CENGİZ TURİZM A.Ş.

Cengiz Turizm began in 1950 with single charcoal powered hire car running (Opel ) between Ceyhan,Adana and Ankara. Four years later Mr. Selahattin CENGIZ, the man behind the service, bought his first bus (Scania Vabis) signalling the start of a journey that would lead to the 120 plus fleet that is servicing the areas of Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir Antalya and Bursa today.

Today Cengiz Turizm employs nearly 1000 people; 742 drivers, 134 in the workshop, 62 operating the depots and 65 in head office. They are responsible for the 120 plus fleet delivering quality Cengiz Turizm services every day of the week.

Cengiz Turizm operates around 100 bus routes in the Adana and Mersin regions, and approximately 30 more in the Turkey national area. These bus services take people to and from work, domestic lines, schools and many other places. Cengiz Turizm ' factory services transport worker from as far north as Adana and as far south as Mersin seven days a week. Charter Services are also available from all depots.

1950	Mr. Selahattin CENGIZ commences a hire car service from Ceyhan ADANA to ANKARA with a 1944 twenty-seater Opel
1954	First bus bought – a 1950 Scania Vabis 31-passenger bus for TL 2.000
1954	Mr. Selahattin CENGIZ take over domestic line buses
1968	Service to SASA,(ADANA) factory starts
1969	Double deckers obtained for munitions factory service
1970	Cengiz Turizm Company bought as well as 5 buses
1976	Cengiz Turizm head office established
1978	Fleet number reaches eighty Twenty-six new Volvo’s bought
1970s	New bus routes established to support factory developments in the Turkey area
1981	Cengiz Turizm A.S. name adopted
1982	Service to SISECAM,(MERSIN) factory starts
1986	First permanent depot established at Adana Cengiz Turizm buy Adana City Bus Service

1978	Cengiz Turizm begins buying Mercedes Benz buses
1998	First low floor Mercedes buses are put on the road
1997	Cengiz Turizm head office relocates to new, larger premises in Adana
1998	Cengiz Turizm acquires Lider Adana Seyahat A.S. domestic line services including thirty buses Ten buses are bought from Mercedes Benz
1998	Ankara depot officially opened by Mr. Selahattin CENGIZ
2002	Cengiz Turizm/ Lider Adana provides staff & buses for the TUYAB Fair transport
2004	Lider Adana/Cengiz Turizm bought new model Mercedes Benz buses
2005	Cengiz Turizm bought new Temsa Prenses buses for factory services
2006	Lider Adana Cengiz Turizm bought new Temsa Prestige 28 seat buses
2007	Lider Adana bought new Mercedes Travego motor coaches
2008	Lider Adana Cengiz Turizm bought new Temsa Diamond motor coaches

Administration and organisation

Each local bus depot concentrates on its own daily operations and bus maintenance, while head office looks after centralised administrative functions. An Operations Manager and operational support staff manage each depot at a local level. Many depots have a fully equipped workshop, a Workshop Manager and qualified, experienced mechanics. Routine maintenance requirements, including panel beating and spray painting are provided "in house". Major depots are also equipped with electronic brake testers, shakers and automatic bus washing equipment.
